Director of Marketing, Fundraising, and Art & Heritage Exhibitions

As co-producer and marketing manager of the Festival, Diana brings a wealth of artistic talent, knowledge and over two decades of marketing experience working with both non-profit organizations and for-profit corporations. She received her diploma in fine art and advertising from the venerable Arts Centre in Toronto and continued on a high-octane path to the top of the Toronto ad agency scene during the late 1980’s, becoming SVP, Creative Director for a national ad agency at age 28.

A strategic marketing leader, Diana has developed fully integrated marketing programs for a wide variety of lifestyle, real estate, and arts and cultural clients in Canada and the US. Diana is a hands-on designer, expert facilitator, effective communicator, and a creative director.

Diana has worked with several local arts organizations such as Arts Umbrella, Ballet BC,  The Dance Centre and the Vancouver Art Gallery. She currently sits as president of the Sunshine Coast Dance Society and has volunteered on numerous  economic development and sales and marketing awards committees. From 2014 to 2016, Diana Co-produced the festivals MInd, Body & Soul (2014) The Story of Cedar ( 2015) and The Art of Water (2016) providing strategic festival direction, marketing management, and providing curatorial management of the Art Exhibition and Heritage Exhibits, both events that have broken new cross-cultural ground in the region, and received numerous accolades.

Director of Production, Administration, and Performance Programming

Ross is partners in event management company Arcadian Productions with Nancy Cottingham Powell, originator and long-time producer of the Sechelt Arts Festival, and has been present in the background and chipping in on production and stage management since the festival's inception.

Ross Powell started out working as a musician while still in high school. Since entering the production world he has specialized in production management of concerts, festivals, and parades.

Ross' major credits include: Director of Programming and Production of CelticFest Vancouver; Technical Director of MusicFest Vancouver; Production Manager of the Rogers Santa Claus Parade, the Vancouver Canada Day Parade, and theVancouver St. Patricks Day Parade; Production Manager of the Aboriginal Pavilion at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics; Producer of Covering Joni-Album by Album for the Sechelt Arts Festival; Production Manager of the Vancouver Symphony’s outdoor concerts series; Stage Manager for the VSO; Author and Publisher of a best-selling dog-walking guide book for Greater Vancouver; Co-Producer and Story By credit on The Swinging Nutcracker – a CBC special; and Tour Manager on ‘Experience Canada’, a cross-Canada theatrical tour celebrating Canada’s 125th birthday.
