Coming October 6 ~ A PREMIER CANADA 150+ EVENT

syiyaya. Our Families. Our Stories.

To acknowledge the 150+ anniversary year on the Sunshine Coast, the Sechelt Arts Festival will present syiyaya. Our Families. Our Stories.

This special art and cultural project will capture our community forbearers’ stories, inspire and engage our youth, recognize our multi-cultural diversity, and create opportunities for dialogue and understanding between our First Nations and settler communities. In partnership with SD46, stories and interviews with local elders and seniors were collected during the spring of 2017 and transformed into a student art and literary showcase of the collected stories (on October 1), and a multi-media theatrical event (October 6).

FRIDAY OCTOBER 6 at @ 8PM - Ravens Cry Theatre, Sechelt

Multi- media theatre event. Collected stories and interviews will be merged with heritage live-action vignettes in this professionally produced multi-media and multi-cultural stage production of syiyaya. Our families. Our stories. Get your tickets to syiyaya ONLINEor at the Sechelt Visitors Centre for the multi-media theatre event of the year!
